FEES & APPOINTMENT TYPES

Thornlie Square Medical Centre is a BULK BILLING PRACTICE on all days of the week from 1 st November 2025.

SURGERY FEES: As of 1 st November 2025

From 1 st November 2025, Thornlie Square Medical Centre will be a Bulk billing Practice on all days of the week. This change would mean that patients that hold a current, valid Medicare/DVA card will be bulkbilled for consultations, including Care
Plans, Health Assessments, Referrals, Results, Prescription Requests, Dressings, Childhood + catch up immunisations and more.

You will need to bring your valid Medicare/ DVA card, Concession or Pension card to each visit.

Non-Medicare cardholders will be charged a fee for consultations. All fees must be paid on the day. We accept Private Insurance funds including but not limited to: BUPA, HBF, HIF, NIB. To claim and pay the gap only please make sure you present your health fund card on the day of the appointment.

Patients of ALL age groups (with Valid Medicare Card)

Pension Card holders

DVA Gold card Holders

Health assessments

Chronic Disease Management (Care Plans)

Office tests – ECG, Spirometry, ABPI, etc.

Mental Health Care Plans

Private Fees apply for non-Medicare cardholders.

Private Fees apply for some services. There may be certain special consults which may attract different Medicare item numbers and fees.

Procedures

All Procedures at Thornlie Square Medical Centre incur out-of-pocket fees.

The doctor or Reception staff can advise you at your consultation regarding the fees.
Iron infusions will be charged a private, non-rebatable fee of $150.
This fee is payable on the day of the procedure and in addition to the cost of you iron.

These consultations incur a fee and are Non-Medicare rebatable. Please speak to our friendly reception staff when making an appointment for these types of consultations.

Non-Medicare Rebated Consults:

Workers compensation claims From $102, Commercial Driver’s Medicals from $150, Employment related consults (Return/Fit to Work) From $75, ID Checks $25, Travel Vaccinations from $75, Anti-Wrinkle Injections, PRP Injections, be Motor Vehicle Accidents from $75, Consult without the patient in attendance (eg.child, spouse) From $75, Insurance/Superannuation Forms (time based amount from $75), Invalid/Expired Medicare Cared will also incur a private fee from $75. All fees must be paid on the day.

Appointments

We cater for urgent, non-urgent, complex, chronic disease management, health checks, immunisations, insurance and drivers medicals and case conference consultations.

A standard appointment is 10 minutes however if you require more time, longer appointments are available. Please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment and they will assist you accordingly.

Interpreter services

For patients experiencing language or disability difficulties a translator can be arranged.

If you require this service please discuss this with our receptionist when making your appointment. Our Doctors also speak the following languages: Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Russian and Polish.

Recall/Reminder system

You will be automatically enrolled in our Recall/ Reminder system to inform you of recurring healthcare issues such as annual check-ups, care planning and immunisations. Please advise the receptionist if you do not wish to participate. Patients will be contacted for recalls when clinically indicated and necessary.

Telephone policy

Most issues are best dealt with in consultation with your doctor, however, you may leave a message with the receptionist to forward to your doctor and he/she will endeavor to return your call.

Test results, referrals, and scripts

We have a policy that requires you to make an appointment to discuss all test results.

Referrals and repeat scripts will be issued during your consultation, and generally cannot be issued in response to a phone request. Your doctor may do so at his/her discretion, however this may attract a fee.

Complaints

Can be made directly to the Practice Manager by calling, by email info@thornliesquaremedicalcentre.com.au   or to The Health and Disabilities Services Complaints Office www.hadsco.wa.gov.au complies with all confidentiality and privacy obligations. Please ask at Reception for a copy of our privacy policy. Patient feedback is welcomed and forms are available at reception.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 2 hours’ notice when cancelling a GP* appointment, If an appointment is missed, a Did Not Attend fee will be charged from the practice that is not rebatable from Medicare, payment of fee is required prior to booking a new
appointment.

* ALLIED HEALTH PRACTITIONERS hold their own CANCELLATION POLICY of 24hours notice.
